We offer you a week long Workshop in Bulgarian Embroidery within a nine days tourist program in one of the three unforgettable places - Dolen, Melnik or Sozopol. Place: At the RhoDea houses in the village of Dolen Amidst the gorgeous nature of the Rhodopes and the serenity of the centuries old house you will have the opportunity to immerse into the world of beauty and finesse of the Bulgarian embroidery. There is a collection of Bulgarian national costumes and embroideries at the host house. Will visit the rich ethnographic collection of the Historical Museum in the town of Gotse Delchev (25km) in one of the afternoons. Place: At the Lumparov’s House in the town of Melnik The charm of the little museum-town will inspire you with its majestic sand pyramids, with the solid-built houses perching on the slopes, with the enchanting light streaming from the Pirin Mountain. Even if you are not an artist - in Melnik will become one and the opportunity to express your inspiration with embroidery gives you real joy. In addition to the embroidery assignments you can visit some other interesting places - the Rozhen monastery (7 km), the special energy emanating place Rupite (18 km), historical settings around the town. Place: At the House with the Sun in the town of Sozopol The small town-architectural and historical reserve is situated on a rocky peninsula in the Black sea. It is one of the most well known and visited sea resorts rich in history, architecture and cultural events. A fascinating place to carry out a work-shop in the traditional art - embroidery. There are many interesting places in the town to be visited - archeological excavations, churches, museums, art galleries. Note: After your arrival to Sofia before leaving for Dolen, Melnik or Sozopol will visit the Ethnographic Museum in Sofia - a real treasure of embroideries and national costumes. On your way back from Dolen and Melnik to Sofia will visit the Rila Monastery - the most prominent Renaissance monument of the Bulgarian culture and architecture. After leaving Sozopol will have the opportunity to visit Nessebar another town-reserve part of the world’s heritage under the auspices of UNESCO. - Number of participants - from 6 to 9 people - Each participant will have all materials necessary for the workshop - At the end of the workshop each participant will have an embroidered mat completed -
